What Is Pelvic Pain:

Pelvic pain during pregnancy is basically sharp or cramping pain in the lower part of your abdomen and pelvis.

Mainly the region below your belly button and near your legs is the affected area.

Many times it might occur in your lower back, buttocks & thighs. Pelvic pain can be linked to a variety of conditions and diseases such as endometriosis, fibroid or some serious issues like an ectopic pregnancy or cancer.

This pain may be sharp & dull or normal.  Many times these symptoms may occur with improper vaginal discharge, lower pain etc.

Which is many a time the reason for pain? Postpartum pelvic pain occurs commonly in the Hip, pelvic and groin area. In the gradual process of pregnancy, ligaments get loose preparing your body for delivery.

Some other symptoms you can look for are as follows:

  2. Pain while having coitus.
  3. Feeling pain in the Hip and groin area.
  4. Improper and painful bowel movements.
  5. Abdominal bloating.
  6. You might feel pain and pressure on your bladder.
  7. Pain when standing for long periods.
  8. Feeling pain while urination.

Consulting a doctor is always recommended as it can also be linked to cancer. It may be pelvic pain symptoms of ovarian cancer, which is hard to detect in an early stage.

As you can see pelvic pain is common and something that all women have faced at least once. It can be a serious issue too. Pelvic pain during pregnancy is normal & can be relieved at home.

  2. Changing your dietary pattern can provide relief to pelvic pain. Avoid eating meat and switch to a more vegetable-rich diet. Increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables. Try to avoid processed foods, sugars, and red meat.
  3. You can choose to massage the pelvic region. Massaging your abdomen, back, waist etc can show better results.
  4. You can choose for over the counter(OTC) medicines for pain relief. If you are feeling inflammation and pain you can choose O-T-C painkillers. it provides instant relief from cramps.
  5. An exercise is always a healthy option. Stretching your muscles can provide relief from pelvic pain. Light exercise is recommended.
  6. Try to include Omega 3 fatty acids in your diet. They can be found in Salmon or be taken as daily supplements.
  7. Yoga can be very helpful in providing relief from pelvic pain. As it involves various stretches which may relieve the pain.
