Instead of feeling tired at night, toddlers become wide awake. Instead of being ready for the story time they want to run around the house screaming. Bedtime routine toddler is necessary as it is the only way to make your toddler sleep in time otherwise bedtime is a battle to get kids into bed.

Bedtime routine toddler is a tough task to perform by every parent to make their baby sleep.

The important thing is that parents do the same thing every night so that their toddler learns to associate themselves with the particular activities with bedtime.

  • To make a routine for your baby is not an easy task for sure but to make this routine interesting can help you make the task easy.

One thing to note is that your toddler’s bedtime routine should always include spending a little time in the bedroom.

This will make the baby realize that the bedroom is not a place where he is sent at the end of the day instead the room is a nice place to play and sleep also.

Once you tuck your toddler in for the night, just give him a kiss and leave the room by saying goodnight.

If he starts crying then assure him that you’re coming in a while. Keep checking if your toddler is asleep or not.

  • Choose some activities that help to calm your toddler rather than excite him, so that he can fall asleep easily.
  • Give him a nice warm bath as it is a soothing experience for your toddler and will help him to fall asleep early.
  • Brush your toddler’s teeth as your bedtime routine toddler should always include brushing teeth.
  • Get your toddler’s nappy and get him changed properly for bed. Cozy night dress will definitely make him feel more comfy and sleepy.
  • Play a quiet game with your toddler. Before going to bed, play some calm games with your toddler such as puzzles, card games, counting shelves in the room etc.
  • Read a bedtime story and make him learn new words.
  • Sing a soothing lullaby as it is a classic way to help your sleepy toddler drift off.
Say goodnight and give him a soft toy to hug and sleep calmly.

Toddler Fighting Sleep

How to solve the problem of toddler fighting sleep?

  • Rearrange your toddler’s sleep schedule, if the toddler is taking a long nap during daytime then it is making hard for him to sleep early in the night.
  • Tire your toddler out
  • Kids are the most energetic souls on Earth so it is always necessary for them to release their energy out because then only they can sleep calmly. So make sure that your toddler plays and gets himself involved in various tiring activities.
  • Create a calm sleep environment such as keep the lights off to keep the bedroom dark.
  • Speak to him softly and provide him with some relaxing games to play.
  • Make your toddler’s bedroom a positive place-
  • Do not send your toddler alone in his bedroom when he misbehaves. Try to make him feel that his bedroom is not only a negative place to be but also a positive one where he can do other activities rather than sleeping.

Bedtime routine toddler is necessary to prepare as this is the only way you can make your baby habitual of sleeping in time. The bedroom should never be used for sleeping only but for playing games too.
