WHEN TO DO PREGNANCY TEST?
If you have planned your pregnancy with preconception care and having intercourse during your fertile days, It would have not more than 2- 12 months that you’ll get pregnant. If you find no results in a year, you should consult with your gynecologist.
When To Do Pregnancy Test At Home?
If your periods are regular, you would have probably known when your proposed period date (the date you assume your period will occur if not get pregnant) is due. You can do the Pregnancy test at home on the first day of your proposed period.
If you’re not sure about your proposed period date, it would have better you should wait before doing a test for at least three weeks after your probable conception date (the date you think you may have conceived).
IF TEST IS NEGATIVE AND PERIOD ARE STILL MISSED
If at the first day of your proposed period date the test result is negative and the period is missed, you should have wait for a week more for repeating the test. You should have consulted with your Gynecologist if the same has happened the next week also.
GET TEST RESULT BEFORE PROPOSED PERIOD DATE
Some Quick Pregnancy Detection Test (QPDT) Kits are able to detect your pregnancy before your proposed period date. Check the packaging of your QPDT kit to find out when it can be used.
The sensitivity of a pregnancy test is mentioned by some QPDT kits on their packaging in terms of mIU/ml (milli-International Unit per milliliter). The pregnancy test sensitivity measures between 10 and 40 mlU/ml. The lower the number, the more the test’s sensitivity, and the earlier it can detect pregnancy.
When you get pregnant a hormone called Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG) is released by the body. HCG get present in urine as well as your blood.
Add 2-3 drops of urine on the clean, dry, non-absorbent specified surface and wait for the result for 5 min.

READING YOUR RESULTS
- If 1 Line is highlighted = it shows that you are Not Pregnant
- If 2 Lines are highlighted = it shows that you are Pregnant
If 2 colored lines appear, 1 as the testing line and other as the control line, it means the test is positive.
Now you can assume that you are pregnant. Even if the lines are very light in color, you can still assure yourself to be pregnant. You should consult your family doctor and follow his/her advise.
- The exact color of the line is not important.
- The test should not be evaluated after 30 minutes.
WHEN DID YOU GET PREGNANT
If you get a positive test result on the first day of your proposed period, it’s most likely about two weeks since you’ve conceived.
CALCULATE YOUR PREGNANCY DUE DATE
Your pregnancy due date will be about 40 weeks (280 days) after of the first day of your last Menstrual Period (LMP). For Example, if your LMP started on 21st July, Your Pregnancy due date will estimate on next 27th Apr.
Please Note, this is the proposed due date of your pregnancy. The actual due date may vary by some weeks. Means the actual due date can be three weeks prior or two weeks later of proposed due date.
