What Is IVF?
It is often said, blessed are those who have children. Of course, children are a gift of God but there are times when life is harsh.
Sadly a situation may arise when the parents are not able to conceive because of infertility or a disorder.
It becomes really disheartening as most of the couple’s dream to have a baby of their own. Here to the rescue comes IVF or In Vitro Fertilization or Test tube baby.
Let’s know further what is IVF all about.
Now the question is basically what is IVF or Test tube baby?
Well IVF i.e. In Vitro Fertilization is a smart fertilization technique used in a situation where the mother is unable to get pregnant due to various reasons such as blocked fallopian tubes, ovarian disorders, hormonal imbalance, PCOS, cysts, uterine fibroid or where a father may be suffering from a low sperm count or sperm motility.
Here the fertilization process is somehow a manual version of what actually takes place in the female body.
This stimulation of fertilization takes place exactly like the natural process but happens somehow in a technical way.
IVF or Test tube baby is no longer being observed as a taboo and is now being wholeheartedly accepted all over the world.
Process Of IVF
The IVF treatment works in such a manner that the eggs (ovum) from the ovaries of women are extracted using a very thin needle and the sperm samples from a male body are collected and preserved outside the body.
Further, they are combined in a laboratory dish to form a zygote. The zygote so formed is matured in an incubator and in about four to six days it eventually turns into an embryo which is now planted in the uterus of the woman.
The process of IVF treatment or one IVF cycle takes about four to six months for completion from getting consulted till the plantation of the embryo.
Once the embryo is planted in the uterus of the female, it requires the recipient to take a complete rest for the next 24 hours.
Further there takes place normal IVF pregnancy within the next ten days after implantation. IVF pregnancy is similar to the normal pregnancy.
Make sure you take the pregnancy test after about 10-14 days once the implantation has taken place.
Specifically saying, taking pregnancy tests again and again before the mentioned period may not give the right results and may also misguide you.
Repeatedly taking such tests may present you as pregnant even when you are not. So resist yourself and go for a complete final test after a 10-14 days break.
Normally a woman experiences a complete menstrual cycle each month where her body and the uterus prepare itself for implantation.
The ovum or the eggs become mature and get ready for fertilization. Each new menstrual cycle starts just after the first day of your period.
But this is not the case in an IVF cycle. Here the body itself does not prepare for implantation but already fertilized and matured embryo is implanted in the uterus.
The body further reacts naturally to it and the phenomenon of pregnancy takes place after 10-14 days of implantation.
IVF surrogate something which is becoming really common or we can say in trend these days.
In case the patient is not able to carry the IVF embryo herself or does not want to carry it because of some reason, here a third-party or a surrogate mother i.e. another woman who agrees to carry the test tube baby or IVF child of the parents in her womb is appointed.
The best part remains that the IVF baby still has the parent cells completely i.e, the mother’s eggs and the father’s sperms.
This method is becoming popular not only among people who cannot carry their child but also among celebrities and body-conscious women who do not want to increase their weight or distort their body shape through pregnancy.
This may charge up to 10000$-150000$ varying with different countries and surrogate mother type.
Success Rate Of IVF
IVF baby or test tube baby can be the last option of pregnancy for most of the parents. But this is not always the most definite way since there are various factors that affect the success rate of IVF.

Certain other factors like smoking and drinking habits, previous pregnancy records, parental fertility disorder conditions and its extent are other determining factors.
